Senior Management

 

Victor Sedov is the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship’s President as well as a board member.  He is also a board member emeritus of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund, and co-founder of Victoria Enterprises, a consulting firm facilitating U.S.-Russian business relations.  Since 1992, he has been the President of Enterprise Russia, an education organization dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship and free enterprise in Russia.  Mr. Sedov has developed and implemented international training projects, worked with Russian and U.S. government agencies, advised and represented U.S. and European firms doing business in Russia, and promoted the growth of enterprises throughout Russia.

Dr. Ray Smilor is Senior Fellow at the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship.  Previously, Mr. Smilor was the Executive Director of the Beyster Institute at the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego.  Dr. Smilor was also a tenured professor at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin, also serving there as Executive Director of the IC2 Institute, an internationally recognized think-tank for entrepreneurship and economic development.  He helped build the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership in the U.S., and is an internationally recognized expert on entrepreneurship.  Dr. Smilor has authored and edited thirteen books on entrepreneurship, including his latest, Daring Visionaries:  How Entrepreneurs Build Companies, Inspire Allegiance, and Create Wealth.

Ron Bernstein is the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship's Treasurer and Secretary.  He is formerly the Associate Director and CFO of the Beyster Institute at the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego.  Mr. Bernstein has played an active role in promoting employee ownership in the privatization process in Russia, Venezuela, Egypt, and other emerging countries.  He has hosted training programs for Russian business leaders to promote the transformation of former state-run enterprises to private ownership and viability in the new market economy.

Eric Hansen is the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship’s Vice President.  He first began working in Russia in 1992 and brings to CFE extensive international marketing management and communications experience in the fields of media, high technology, and in training and organizational development.  Fluent in Russian, he earned his MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and his BA in Central and Eastern European Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder
